Marvel may be slowly taking over the comic book cinematic world with all of their Avengers characters crossing over from TV to film, especially after they’ve acquired Spider-Man, but that doesn’t mean that Fox doesn’t have plans for their Marvel characters.
X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer actually had a lovely chat with Yahoo! about the idea of crossing over his X-Men franchise with Fox’s upcoming rebooted Fantastic Four film, which he had this to say:
“Those ideas are in play,” he says. “That would be a natural match-up because they’re both ensemble films and there is a natural mechanism by which to do it.”
Yeah, the story doesn’t give us too much hope or even grounds to stand by, but I wouldn’t rule any of this out, especially if the X-Men series starts to wrap things up, while the Fantastic Four series proves to be a financial success for Fox.
This will all be weighed in when Fantastic Four opens next month and when X-Men: Apocalypse comes out next year, followed by Hugh Jackman‘s final role as The Wolverine in his film with James Mangold.
