All the way back when Comic-Con news was fresh in our minds there was talk about Edgar Wright‘s supposed Ant-Man test footage. He apparently shot and presented some rough footage that was so well received Marvel decided to finally acknowledge his involvement and get a film off the ground.
There’s still only rumors about him starting production after he finishes The World’s End, but it’s seemly a strong possibility that he’ll get going on Ant-Man as soon as his scheduled allows, because comic-book movies are big and in demand and Wright would be just the guy to make something special and unique for such a small character on the gigantic totem pole.
Comic Book Movie is reporting that the test footage may find its way online if we’re patient and at the same time slightly demanding. Marvel loves pleasing the die-hard fans, so if we keep at ’em about it they’ll probably trickle it online in some fashion or maybe toss it on a Blu-ray as an easter egg.
Here’s a direct quote from one of the Marvel executives:
“We’re working on finishing it, and I think you might see it. Not sure where, but we always listen to the fans. And if the fans demand it we make sure they get it.”
