Wake Me Up When It’s Over: The First Trailer For Tom Hooper’s Les Miserables

I couldn’t take 20 minutes of Tom Hooper‘s BORING Oscar bait trash The King’s Speech and judging from this early trailer I don’t think I’ll be able to take 15 minutes of Les Miserables.

The musical stars Anne Hathaway, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Hugh Jackman.

The colors are drab, the music is what’s to be expected for a musical and the story isn’t really revealed. Universal will be releasing this film around Christmas time (December 14th to be exact), which makes me fear for the worst.

If it wins best picture then fuck it all, seriously.

Check out the trailer below:

Set against the backdrop of 19th-century France, Les Misérables tells an enthralling story of broken dreams and unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption—a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. Jackman plays ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, hunted for decades by the ruthless policeman Javert (Crowe) after he breaks parole. When Valjean agrees to care for factory worker Fantine’s (Hathaway) young daughter, Cosette, their lives change forever.
