Who would have thought, a fourth Underworld film is actually going to be seeing the light of day and on the big screen no less, in front of a huge audience in the oh so popular 3D format. I never was a fan of the series, I might have seen bits and pieces of the first and second films, but I stupidly thought it would be a good idea to jump in when the prequel, Rise of the Lycans came out and man was that a mistake and a half. Rise of the Lycans was a massive piece of shit and I don’t know why I even bothered, since it didn’t even star the main hottie of the first two, Kate Beckinsale.
But don’t you worry about a thing because she is back and still rockin’ the leather in this fourth installment, horribly titled Underworld: Awakening. I’ll probably see it for the hopefully cool 3D effects, but that seems to be about the only thing going for the film. What’s with Sony and making these generic looking sequels that try so hard to cash in on the 3D phase? First Resident Evil: Afterlife and now this? Isn’t it odd that both fourth entries in the Resident Evil series and Underworld series have the subtitle that begins with an “A”, plus they both market 3D to hell in the trailers!
Odd I know, but this is life. Check out the trailer below, thanks to Bad Ass Digest.
Underworld: Awakening opens in theaters on January 20th, 2012.
