If only Dimension would have heeded their own fucking advice.
I love the Scream franchise, it’s my favorite series of horror films. Ever since the release of the financially disappointing but overall satisfying Scream 4, there have been rumblings and murmurs regarding a potential television program. I had to question the motives of such a puzzling move. Questions were raised. Would such a TV show do justice to its silver screen predecessors? Thankfully, Dimension TV has teamed up with the MTV network to deliver Scream: The TV Series to MTV’s demographic of 13 to 13-and-a-half year olds nationwide. The show is going to be a complete reimagining of the film franchise, updated for modern times and the goddamn millenials, apparently appealing to their angst and reliance on teen dramas for nourishment. Have a look-see and decide for yourself whether Scream: The TV Series looks just above mediocre, or just below being television’s shitstained drawers.
It’s going to star Bex Taylor-Klaus, Willa Fitzgerald, John Karna, Amadeus Serafini, and Connor Weil, and I guess Bella Thorne. The show begins on June 30th, 2015.
