‘Townies’ Starring Seth Rogen And Zac Efron Gets A New Title


According to The Hollywood Reporter, Universal has announced that that Nicholas Stoller directed comedy Townies starring Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Zac Efron will now be simply and blandly titled Neighbors.

Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne star in the film as young parents who move in next door to a fraternity house. Zac Efron stars as the frat guy who makes the family’s life a living nightmare. Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Dave Franco, Craig Roberts, Carla Gallo, Ali Cobrin, and Ike Barinholtz co-stars.

Nicholas Stoller, who previously directed Forgetting Sarah Marshall and The Five Year Engagement, is directing from a screenplay by Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien, who make their screenwriting debuts after producing comedies such as The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, and Funny People. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are also producing.

Neighbors will be released in theaters on May 9th, 2014. On that specific date, the comedy will be going up against Jon Favreau’s drama Chef and Tyler Perry’s Single Moms Club.
