Denis Villeneuve‘s Blade Runner 2049 is sort of becoming everyone’s most-anticipated film of 2017.
It’s not just the fact that Villeneuve is a fantastic director or that Harrison Ford is returning, alongside Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto and even Dave Bautista.
It’s also not because of acclaimed cinematographer Roger Deakins shooting the shit out of the film.
Oh wait, yeah it’s definitely because of all of those things combined.
Blade Runner 2049 is still a sequel and with that comes my own restrained judgments, but it has Ridley Scott‘s blessing and they somehow managed to get Ford back.
I hope that the future trailers reveal even less, because this new one is layered in all sorts of mystery, firing off questions that I don’t want answered until the film’s October release.
