Theatrical Trailer #2 For The Avengers

Following the latest poster release yesterday, Marvel via Apple has released the second theatrical trailer for Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers. I like that the trailer manages to reveal a little bit more about the alien enemy, while still keeping the primary focus on The Avengers and how they formed. I especially like that we get a more extensive peek at the confrontation between Thor, Iron Man and Captain America.

I was worried that the story would be lost somewhere in the middle of the giant budget, which judging by this trailer has been put to good use. There’s a massive scale about this latest trailer that I like and I am fully willing to pay admission just to watch the epic showdown.

Let’s hope that all of the star power and action isn’t for nothing. A worthwhile story is a must for the film, otherwise it will be a giant waste of time and energy

It’s worth noting that the film is looking more and more cartoonish, which is exactly what an Avengers film should look like. It feels big, fun and exciting.

The Avengers stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and Samuel L. Jackson. It opens in theaters on May 4th, 2012.
