The second official trailer has hit the web (haha) for Marc Webb‘s Spider-Man reboot titled The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Rhys Ifans. I can safely say that it looks different enough to warrant a purpose. Webb’s version of the webbed crawler is looking to focus more on Spidey’s history with his parents and the secrets they may possibly hold. This adaptation also shows more of the tech side of Spider-Man, using an actual web shooter.
I like the humor that is thrown in while Spider-Man is fighting the bad guys, it feels more like the comics and much more appropriate for a character who runs around in red and blue spandex. I’m glad that the trailer is completely different than any of Sam Raimi‘s films. The first trailer had me worried because of how similar it looked and because of how much it advertised being the untold story, but now this second trailer confirms that the untold story is very different than Raimi’s films and I’m really hoping the film turns out well.
The Amazing Spider-Man opens in 3D on July 3rd, 2012.
