The Rest Of The ‘Star Wars’ 3D Re-Releases Have Been Scrapped

Just the other night I was chatting up Disney’s decision to hire J.J. Abrams to direct Star Wars: Episode VII with some friends. One of them asked what the plan was for the 3D re-releases of the original films and I commented back saying that  right now all we know is that Attack of the Clones is due out this September, with Revenge of the Sith to follow in October.

And now Lucasfilm has gone on record to say that they’ll be postponing (aka scrapping) the whole idea of 3D re-releases for the original films. They instead want to focus on Episode VII, which makes complete sense; I mean most 3D re-releases have been failing to click at the box office, with Disney pulling The Little Mermaid release altogether. So it’s only logical for them to ditch this whole idea.

I’m a little pissed that I even bothered seeing Phantom Menace in 3D, because that film is complete shit and I only sat through it because I was under the impression that I was going to be able to see the entire series in 3D.

Damn it!
