The Raid Is Now The Raid: Redemption In This New Trailer

I’m not sure why Sony changed the title for the upcoming action flick The Raid to The Raid: Redemption, but this new trailer is badass. It looks like the action flick we’ve been waiting for ever since The Matrix changed a few things back in 1999. I have yet to see the film, but you can bet your ass I’ll be there on opening day/night/morning or whenever they decide to show it in the MN area.

Back to the title change; isn’t Sony planning on remaking the film? Maybe this name change is going to tie in with the remake or director Gareth Evans‘ sequel that he’s planning on doing. Sometimes when a foreign film finally makes its way to the US a sequel is already finished, so I can see them setting it up for the sequel launch and then quickly moving into the remake phase. That could very well be why they’ve added on the subtitle or it could be because they thought The Raid was too simplistic.

I don’t think it’s something we should be losing sleep over, so let’s just forget about that and watch the new trailer below, thanks to Yahoo Movies.
