Two pieces of news have trickled out regarding Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises. The first being the official running time, which is 2 hours and 45 minutes and the second being that AMC Theatres will be hosting a Batman marathon leading into the midnight release of The Dark Knight Rises.
The first isn’t all that surprising, seeing as how most of Nolan’s films are lengthy and both of the Batman films have gone over the 2 hour mark. I’m all for long movies, because it allows you to get the most value for your ticket.
I’m also not too shocked about AMC hosting a marathon concluding one of the biggest trilogies in movie history. They recently hosted an Avengers marathon, which allowed you to view all of Marvel’s tie-in films leading up to the midnight premiere of Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers. I wasn’t able to attend, but that sounded like one hell of a night.
The weird thing about AMC’s event is that it doesn’t mention if it’s simply The Dark Knight followed by The Dark Knight Rises or all three films, starting with Batman Begins. The reason I ask is because they’re calling it The Dark Knight Marathon and not something simpler like The Batman Marathon.
Who knows who cares?
You going to the marathon? Also, tickets will be going on sale this Monday at 11am (for all showings of The Dark Knight Rises), if you’re interested.
