‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’ Producers To Remake ‘Day Of The Dead’

Day-of-the-Dead-Original

I was pleasantly surprised with Liongate’s Texas Chainsaw 3D. The horror reboot/remake/sequel (?) released earlier this year in January to mostly horrible reviews, but I appreciated its efforts, even if it did drop the ball on more than one occasion. It was another take on Leatherface that most disagreed with, yet I found myself enjoying it most of the time.

Now, the same producers are looking to remake George A. Romero‘s Day of the Dead. This has most fans worried, yet I’m still remaining optimistic for another good zombie flick. I’m sure it will end up more like an episode of The Walking Dead than anything Romero has ever made, but I’m always open to the idea of more studio-funded zombie pictures, especially ones that are going out of their way to not be exactly like Brad Pitt‘s actually-decent World War Z.

Here’s a quote from the producers:

We want to keep it as close to the Romero version as possible to make sure that his fans are happy. These are not going to be zombies climbing walls and doing back flips like in World War Z.

Will update you with more information as we get it.
