While speaking with IGN, actor Andy Serkis has revealed that we should be expecting a trailer for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey around Christmastime. The prequel to the popular Lord of the Rings series has been long gestating, and feared dead after the departure of star director Guillermo Del Toro, it has been saved by the man that started the film series, Peter Jackson.
Considering Jackson is a co-producer (along with Speilberg) of the upcoming The Adventures of Tintin, and both films are being released by Warner Brothers, it’s a good bet that we’ll be able to catch the trailer in front of it. Hell, Andy Serkis put his mo-cap abilities on display for Tintin as well. What better way to promote next year’s big holiday film than to stick it in front of this year’s big holiday film from the studio? Makes sense to me.
What do you think? Are you excited for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, or are you one of the people mad that they didn’t make it first? Let us know!
