Prometheus writer Damon Lindelof and director Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) are teaming up for a secretive Disney project titled 1952. We really don’t know what it’s about, but they’re going about this whole thing in a very J.J. Abrams way. By that I mean that they’re slowing dropping hints, but not outright giving us full bits of plot.
I believe they debunked an alien rumor early on, but I’m still questioning that heavily, at least until we get some more concrete news.
Apparently the whole film is being worked around the discovery of a box titled 1952 at the Disney offices, in which Lindelof happened to stumble upon. I don’t even know if I buy that discovery, but today Brad Bird has posted a picture of what’s inside the mystery box.
It can be seen above.
I’m drawing all sorts of wild ideas in my head, but nothing is really sticking. Are we going to see a film about a futuristic Disneyland that Walt himself was working on? Possibly jet packs or maybe just another cartoon character that they never bothered developing further.
What do you think 1952 is all about?
