‘Suspiria’ Remake Gets Its Lead

Yes, the creepy girl from Orphan has been cast as the Jessica Harper role for David Gordon Green’s Suspiria remake.  The remake of the classic Dario Argento film about a ballerina student who discovers a coven of witches living in the school.  Isabelle Fuhrman is the girl’s name, and she most recently appeared as one of the villainous children in The Hunger Games.

The project has been closely scrutinized ever since its announcement, and while it seems like it has taken a while to get to this point, maybe this casting news is a sign that the film is actually moving forward, and sooner rather than later.  David Gordon Green began his career making interesting dramas, but lately, he’s been making strange stoner comedies like Pineapple Express, Your Highness, and most recently, The Sitter starring Jonah Hill. When we hear more about this film, or when it starts shooting, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.
