“Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. brings together a team of super humans to form The Avengers to help save the Earth from Loki and his army.”
Well, only really one movie worth talking about this week, and everyone has already decided whether or not they’ll be seeing it. Either it’s highly anticipated or you could care less. For those that have been waiting, I’m curious to see what the weekend holds for them, and more importantly, what next weekend looks like. It will open big, but will negative word of mouth bring it down? It certainly has the star power, and a bunch of different multi-million dollar franchises behind it, so either way this one won’t break Marvel’s bank just yet.
Having seen the film, I can tell you right now this weekend will say a lot about whether or not Marvel will make another big budget Hulk movie, how much promotion will go into Iron Man 3, and how fast they’ll get into production on Avengers 2. If the film does well, all these things will likely roll on through, a big second week drop off could affect all those things. I thought the film was standard, a lot of fun, but nothing I’ll remember forever and ever. I’m sure young audiences will love it, it’s everything that’s advertised, it just seems the extra parts are confusing and boring some fans.
