I’ve always been a huge fan of Spider-Man, both on the screen (big and small) and in the comic books. I won’t lie and say that I was a huge reader of the comics, but I dug the cartoon quite a bit and really got into the movies.
Oddly enough, I am now getting sick of Spider-Man, after having seen the character get rebooted, only to get ANOTHER reboot a few years later. Spider-Man: Homecoming just didn’t work for me and has me only barely curious as to where the character will go next.
Yet Sony is going all-in with the character and dropping an animated film that appears to be interested in telling stories that we aren’t too familiar with.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse shows us a beautifully-rendered world where more than one wears the mask, including Miles Morales.
The animation looks edgy, cell-shaded and unique, while the hinted-at story looks like something we truly haven’t seen before.
For the first time in years, I am excited for another Spider-Man film.
Are you?
