Today Seth Rogen and his writing/producing partner Evan Goldberg continued their conquest of Hollywood when it was announced they would reteam with Will Reiser and Jonathan Levine (the writing/directing team behind the upcoming cancer comedy 50/50) for the story Reiser just pitched called Jamaica, based on a trip he took to Jamaica with his grandmother when he was 14 years old.
Mandate Pictures will produce the film, which is described by Variety.com as a road trip comedy. Rogen, Goldberg, Reiser, and Levine are currently prepping 50/50 for release this fall. Reiser’s script, originally titled I’m With Cancer has gone through a few name changes since it was on the Black List, but the film, starring Rogen and Joseph Gordon Levitt is tracking very high amongst critics as one of the fall releases to look forward to.
Sounds like a good comedic adventure, and since Reiser can make cancer funny, I have full faith that Jamaica will be a hilarious romp when it’s finally released. Are you looking forward to it? Who is excited for 50/50?
