Sam Mendes Claims That ‘Spectre’ Is His Last 007 Film

Director Sam Mendes once claimed that Skyfall would be his only Bond film, yet he eventually agreed to come back once more for Spectre, which releases this fall.

Now, word is coming in that he’s yet again done with the Bond franchise after Spectre, with the following quote being released:

“I said no to the last one and then ended up doing it, and was pilloried by all my friends,”Mendes tells the BBC. “But I do think this is probably it…I don’t think I could go down that road again. You do have to put everything else on hold.”

“This is a bigger movie than Skyfall. It’s shot in more places – we were in Mexico City and Tangiers and northern Sahara and Rome and the Alps and London. It’s been an enormous undertaking.”

So, he definitely could end up coming back once more, but I think I believe him this time when he says that he’s finally done with Bond.

That being said, who do you think should take on the Bond series after Mendes?
