Originally slated for an October 4th release, Relativity Media has announced that Scott Cooper’s upcoming revenge drama Out of the Furnace has been bumped into Oscar season. The film will be released in limited theaters on November 27th with a planned expansion on December 6th. Oh, and the first teaser poster has arrived online as well. Check it out below.
The latest from the director of Crazy Heart has a fantastic cast that includes Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson, Forest Whitaker, Sam Shepard, and Willem Dafoe.
Russell (Bale) and his younger brother Rodney (Affleck) are living in the economically depressed Rust Belt and have always dreamed of escaping and finding better lives. When a cruel twist of fate lands Russell in prison, Rodney is lured into one of the most violent crime rings in the Northeast – a mistake that will almost cost him everything. Once released, Russell must choose between his own freedom, or risk it all to seek justice for his brother.
Not a single image or teaser trailer for Out of the Furnace have arrived online just yet but I’m sure with a release date set and a teaser poster online, it’s only a matter of time until the first trailer makes its way. With a strong cast and a talented filmmaker, this is bound to receive attention. This is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year and it looks like Relativity Media has high hopes as well. Make sure to check back for more updates.
