Reel Metal: The Black Dahlia Murder – Moonlight Equilibrium

I’ve long lamented over the lack of pure horror and gore music videos in a genre as ripe with possibilities as death metal.  Sure, there are videos out there, but so many skimp on the blood and guts or just resort to the high school tactics of fast, indecipherable edits that make you nauseous and disoriented.

Well, I should have known that the pairing of death metal titans The Black Dahlia Murder and brilliant music-video auteur David Brodsky would yield some deliciously pleasing results.  The folks over at Bloody-Disgusting have premiered the brand new video for the track “Moonlight Equilibrium” off of TBDM‘s latest release Ritual.

The video is a send up to the old hammer horror and Universal monster movies with just the right amount of gore and lycanthropic feasting.  It’s a tasty treat and one that hits the nail right on the head as far as “horror music videos” are concerned.

Check it out here, and if you haven’t already, make sure you grab Ritual before the next full moon.
