Well, it looks like Zac Efron is about to go the way of Channing Tatum and actually become of some use in Hollywood. Efron has mostly stuck to “safe” romance films, while rarely showing us his true talents as an actor.
I’ve always liked Efron, but I’ve always disliked most of the films that he’s been in, because I knew he had it in him to put his talents to much better use.
Neighbors looks like that film to finally set him apart from the rest. The film also stars Seth Rogen, Dave Franco and a few other notable Judd Apatow regulars.
Director Nicholas Stoller is following his last disappointment, The Five-Year Engagement, with a film that looks much better. Neighbors looks a heck of a lot more funny and probably won’t end up feeling like a chore to sit through.
I’m pumped, because I’m one of the few remaining Seth Rogen fans and I honestly think that Efron has true potential and he finally might be able to show it in this R-rated film.
