Tyler Perry‘s first big non-Madea/Perry-directed film Alex Cross hits theaters tomorrow and it’s awful. It’s so bad that I’d be more than willing to check out sequel after sequel, as long as Rob Cohen is nowhere near the production.
Perry isn’t to blame for the poor quality of Alex Cross, he’s instead the shining light. His performance mostly works because of how terribly miscast he is for the role, but that still makes for part of the experience.
Deadline is reporting that production company QED wants Tyler Perry to reprise the role in an Alex Cross sequel, possibly being titled Double Cross, which is James Patterson‘s sequel novel to Alex Cross. This is all of course pending until we see some box office numbers come Monday.
This could get really good…
