Today /Film has the exclusive on the poster for the upcoming dramatic comedy, 50/50, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen. For those that haven’t been following, the film is based on the real life of writer Will Reiser, a friend of Rogen’s who lived through the ordeal in real life.
His original script, I’m With Cancer quickly got notoriety by appearing on the Black List as compiled by industry leaders. The trailer has been online for a while, but today they’ve revealed the poster:
I like it, very straight to the point, while it doesn’t mention cancer, I feel it captures the full thematic attitude of the movie (of course, without having seen it) being both about cancer, but with a lighthearted approach. Simple, yet effective.
Director Jonathan Levine‘s past films have been very good in each genre he’s made one in (horror, period piece comedy), so I’m curious to see his take on Reiser’s story. Critics and fans alike are eagerly anticipating its September 30th release. What do you think? Is this something you’ll be seeing in theaters?
