Director Alfonso Cuaron is back with his first full-length feature since 2006’s amazing Children of Men. I recently watched one of the director’s other great films this past weekend, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and I must say that Cuaron made a Harry Potter fan out of me with that one and it only made me want to re-watch Children of Men that much more.
But now we can look forward to his latest sci-fi film Gravity, which features George Clooney and Sandra Bullock and has been described as something you simply won’t want to miss. I’ve read a lot about the film featuring some of the longest one-take shots to date and while I can’t confirm that I can say that it is making me countdown the seconds until tomorrow, which is when the first trailer will drop.
Until then we have a poster to look at below, plus one of those annoying teaser trailers, which promotes the release of the actual trailer.
Gravity is set to open in theaters on October 4th, 2013.
Dr. Ryan Stone (Sandra Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
