I’ll admit it, I honestly didn’t think the sequel to Alexandre Aja‘s hilarious, but also extremely bloody and gory Piranha 3D was going to be any good. The sequel was given the go ahead despite the poor box office intake of the first film. The release date was also shuffled around a few times and up until now barely any information has been released in regards to the film. But this teaser trailer changes all of that.
This time around Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton wrote the script with John Gulager replacing Aja in the director’s chair. These guys are known for their work on the Feast series as well as last year’s brutal horror film The Collector, which I really enjoyed. Piranha 3DD promises to bring double in just about every category, from tits to gore!
David Hasselhoff stars alongside Gary Busey, Christopher Lloyd, Daniel Panabaker, Katrina Bowden and Ving Rhames (who is rocking metal legs!).
Piranha 3DD was supposed to hit this November, but it looks like it has been moved to an undetermined date in 2012. My guess is somewhere during the summer season, like August, which is when the first film was released. I can’t wait to find out more about the film because it looks just as good, if not better than the first, which was an instant horror classic!
