Peter Jackson is responsible for giving us The Lord of the Rings on the big screen and because of that trilogy he will forever be known as a fine filmmaker with a distinct vision.
He hasn’t been making the greatest movies as of late, but his work on the Rings trilogy will hold up for years and years to come and no one will ever forget that.
But most of us have expressed our disappointment with his work on The Hobbit trilogy and now Jackson seems to finally explain why in this telling and shocking video, which was released with The Battle of the Five Armies on Blu-ray.
I can’t believe how honest Jackson is and how quickly he’s been able to express his own disappointment and frustration with the trilogy. The fact that he still somehow managed to make three coherent films is a downright miracle among endless disasters.
It certainly seems like he won’t be working within the Hollywood blockbuster studio system again anytime soon and that’s completely understandable.
Seriously, if you enjoyed his Rings films, but found his Hobbit trilogy severely lacking then you might want to watch this video before placing any further judgment on Jackson as a director.
