The international trailer for potential awards season contender Grace of Monaco has arrived online. The film, starring Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, centers on the Hollywood star’s crisis of marriage and identity during a political dispute between Monaco’s Prince Rainier III and France’s Charles De Gaulle in the 1960s. Check out the trailer below.
Even though this trailer is just a brief teaser, the footage displayed is quite compelling and beautiful. It’s difficult to predict if this will be a serious awards contender, considering this year’s award season slate is already packed. Regardless, this will be worth seeing for Nicole Kidman’s portrayal of Grace Kelly. It also doesn’t hurt that Olivier Dahan directed this film. If you may recall, Dahan directed the fantastic biopic La Vie en Rose starring Marion Cotillard.
The Weinstein Company will be releasing Grace of Monaco in theaters starting on November 27th. The film co-stars Tim Roth, Frank Langella, Parker Posey, Paz Vega, and Derek Jacobi. What do you think?
