Sinister was a surprisingly well-made horror film, directed by Scott Derrickson, which he co-wrote with C. Robert Cargill. It was creepy and atmospheric and also gave us one of Ethan Hawke‘s better performances as of late.
Sinister 2 looks like a carbon copy of the first, while also a film that’s looking to expand on the mythology of the creepy boogeyman that loves to snatch up children and kill their families.
It sounds like a bad idea and now it even looks like one.
Ciaran Foy is taking over directing duties, with a script still coming from Derrickson and Cargill.
I’ve attached the red band trailer, which is edited rather strangely and gives away almost too much.
