There’s not much I don’t see on display in this new international trailer for Sam Mendes‘ 007 film Skyfall. There’s action, drama, suspense, gorgeous scenery (thanks to cinematographer Roger Deakins) and the James Bond that has been missing for far too long, played by Daniel Craig.
This looks like the James Bond film that makes up for the disappointing last outing and it just might be better than Casino Royale, which is by far my favorite Bond movie to date.
I love how big and stylish Skyfall looks, while still maintaining that James Bond coolness, despite Craig rocking some scruff on the face after getting proclaimed dead. I hope the story doesn’t dwell too much on Bond disappearing, but at the same time I kind of want to see what it would be like having Bond out of the picture/lost in a hellish limbo.
Javier Bardem seems to be absorbing the villain persona well, with his hair and demeanor maybe coming off a little too strong, but hey, it’s a lot more memorable than the non-villains from the last two films.
Skyfall opens in theaters and IMAX on November 9th, 2012.
