With the extreme success of Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers it shouldn’t come as any surprise that Marvel and company would like to continue making some big bucks off of its star cast. The Film Stage reports that star Mark Ruffalo has a six-movie deal with Marvel and that he’d like to continue playing the character if possible.
The original plan was for a TV show produced by Guillermo del Toro, but now it looks like that might lead into a movie sometime around 2015.
I’m not really sure how to comment on said news. I mean on one had you have del Toro, a visionary if I ever saw one, someone that could really make the character of Hulk interesting, but on the other hand you have Marvel wanting to make another Hulk movie with Mark Ruffalo. I doubt Ruffalo would play Hulk for TV, so things could get really confusing in a hurry.
Plus, Marvel has already tried two times before with Hulk alone on the big screen and while I thought it worked out the second time around, apparently people weren’t happy enough to keep Edward Norton interested, hence the re-casting.
Would you like another Hulk-only film in the near future? Or should he stick to helping out his fellow Avengers?
