Neill Blomkamp‘s Elysium finally gets its first official poster. I love it and I can’t wait for tomorrow, which is when the first trailer will be released.

A few critics had the chance to already check out ten minutes of the film and they’ve been praising it pretty highly, with one of them even calling it a possible all-timer. This doesn’t surprise me much at all, especially after watching Blomkamp’s previous film, District 9.

That still remains one of my favorite sci-fi movies of all time and I absolutely cannot wait to see if he can follow it up with something that’s possibly even better.

Matt Damon and Jodie Foster star.

Elysium opens on August 9th, 2013.

Official synopsis below:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government official will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.
