Now You See Me is kind of one of those out of place summer films that didn’t sneak by quietly and instead made a healthy amount of money. Enough money to warrant a sequel, which brings back almost everyone from the first film.
Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Mark Ruffalo all reprise their roles, while Lizzy Caplan fills in for Isla Fisher.
Also, director Louis Leterrier gets swapped out for Jon M. Chu.
Also also Daniel Radcliffe is going to take the Four Horsemen head on and boy is that going to be exciting.
I enjoyed the first film enough to not call it horrible, but I didn’t fall in love with it or anything. I do think the ensemble cast is well-rounded and perhaps the addition of Caplan, Radcliffe and a new director might make this one fresh enough to be considered a worthwhile sequel.
