Mini Roundup – Mastodon Premiere New Song/Devin Townsend Headlining Tour!

This news couldn’t wait, so I’m posting it now.

You may remember last week when Mastodon released a teaser for their upcoming album The Hunter, which featured a snippet of the new song “Black Tongue”.  Now the kings of Prog Metal N’ Roll have released the full version of the song and boy does it not disappoint!  It’s definitely a bit different than their previous work, but it retains the rockin’ quality that Mastodon have mastered over the years.  And it’s not like I expected them to not to evolve.

Check it out below.

The original SoundCloud upload got deleted and I’m not sure how long the YouTube video will last, but the track is also available on iTunes.  There’s still no official release date for The Hunter, other than it will be out sometime this fall.  We shall all wait impatiently.

In other fantastic news, the chaotic musical mastermind Devin Townsend has unveiled dates for his upcoming fall headlining tour!  This will be his first headlining stint since the culmination and release of all four Devin Townsend Project albums and I for one can’t wait.

Dates below.

Supporting acts have yet to be announced, but honestly I wouldn’t care if Devin took out Attack! Attack!, I’d still go to the show.

If you haven’t yet, make sure you grab your copies of the full Devin Townsend Project suite (Ki, Addicted, Deconstruction, and Ghost) in preparation for what is sure to be one of the best tours of the year.
