Last month, it was reported that director Seth Gordon dropped out of directing Horrible Bosses 2, the sequel to his comedy hit, due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts. It appears that Universal has found a replacement. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sex Drive and That’s My Boy director Sean Anders will direct the film and his writing partner John Morris will produce. The duo recently wrote this summer’s surprise comedy hit We’re The Millers.
The duo apparently weren’t the only ones in consideration for the sequel. According to sources, A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas director Todd Strauss-Schulson was also in talks at one point. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein, who wrote the first film, penned the original draft for the sequel. Anders and Morrison recently did a rewrite. I’m certainly not complaining about the replacement. While Sean Anders’ directorial efforts aren’t outstanding, Anders and Morris have written the underrated comedy She’s Out Of My League and the amusing Hot Tub Time Machine.
Jason Sudeikis, Charlie Day, Jason Bateman, and Jamie Foxx are all expected to reprise their roles. Check back for more updates on Horrible Bosses 2 as they come our way.
