Marvel’s ‘Spider-Man’ Reboot WILL NOT Be An Origins Story

Marvel just can’t seem to keep their hands off of any superhero these days, aside from X-Men (it’s only a matter of time). Now, they’ve struck up a deal with Sony to takeover on the next Spider-Man film, which will not be an origins tale, confirmed by head honcho Kevin Feige.

Instead, Feige and his team over at Marvel are looking to explore the earlier years of young Spidey, more specifically his days in high school. Feige mentions in an interview that he appreciates both previous adaptations of the character, while also saying that this new Spider-Man will focus much more on a younger Spider-Man, running around NYC and trying to figure out how to use his new powers.

This new Spider-Man will also be much more funny and witty, which was kind of hinted at in The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2.

I personally loved Marc Webb‘s reboot and sequel, while most despise The Amazing Spider-Man 2 for some reason. It looks like those Sinister Six and eventual Amazing Spider-Man 3 plans are never going to happen, which means a new face as Spider-Man and a new costume, which is said to be different than the previous two versions, but still “classic Spidey”.

I’m definitely interested to find out more about what Marvel has in store for Spider-Man and Marvel’s Phase 3 of their Cinematic Universe. Word is that a young Peter Parker might show up in Captain America: Civil War, while we know for sure that this Spider-Man reboot is landing in theaters on July 28th, 2017.
