Star Wars: Episode VII has been hogging up all of the news outlets as of late. We’ve already discussed the likelihood of Harrison Ford reprising his role and now we’ve got to get out of the way the involvement of Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher.
We knew it was going to happen, but at least now we have Hamill kind of going on record to confirm that he’s at the very least talked about coming back.
“They’re talking to us. George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we’d be interested. He did say that if we didn’t want to do it, they wouldn’t cast another actor in our parts – they would write us out. … I can tell you right away that we haven’t signed any contracts. We’re in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with Michael Arndt, who is the writer, and Kathleen Kennedy, who is going to run Lucasfilm. Both have had meetings set that were postponed — on their end, not mine. They’re more busy than I am.”
So yeah, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher will more than likely return for Star Wars: Episode VII, unless they ask for too much money or something. I’m willing to bet we’ll see a lot of familiar faces in this new entry, which will hopefully make way for new characters.
