‘Magic Mike’ Sequel Gets A Title & Director

Many were surprised when one of Steven Soderbergh‘s last films, Magic Mike, ended up being one of 2012’s better films. Sure, the ladies dug Channing Tatum and all of the other half-naked men prancing around, but for those that wanted a traditional Soderbergh character study, breaking down one man’s look at the American dream and just how far off he was from it, they ended up getting a film that more than tackled that.

Now, we’ve got news regarding the sequel, which is scripted by star Channing Tatum himself. The film won’t be directed by the now retired Steven Soderbergh. Instead, Magic Mike XXL will be directed by Soderbergh’s go-to first assistant director Greg Jacobs.

That’s all we know at this point, but that should be more than enough to get the girls all hot and bothered until the film enters production and we’ll be forced to post even more pictures of the (probably half-naked) men that will be starring in the film.
