A MacGruber Sequel Still In The Cards

MacGruber is easily one of the funniest films I’ve seen in the past 5 years. The film struggled on the wide release market, bombing pretty hard, but it was made on the cheap end. A sequel would make my year and it makes me happy to know that Will Forte and director Jorma Taccone are discussing it on occasion.

Here’s what Taccone said:

It would be me, Will and John [Solomon] writing it again. Every time I hang out with Will, we talk about all our cool ideas for the sequel. We have the idea for it and we have a title, but I won’t tell you what it is.

While that news doesn’t confirm a sequel of any sorts, it does let us know that it is at least part of discussion. A MacGruber sequel could easily be accomplished and still be able to turn a profit. The first film was made for about $10 million and even though it tanked, it still managed to make its budget back.

Have you seen MacGruber yet? Would you be game for MacTwober?
