Universal has recently announced the decision to slide Tom Hooper‘s The King’s Speech follow up from its original December 14th release date to December 25th. It will now be directly competing against Quentin Tarantino‘s Django Unchained.
The Hugh Jackman-starring musical is stirring up some buzz lately, with the decision to shoot the film with live singing, opposed to recording the voices and pasting over the film. I’m not one for musicals, but I can appreciate the risk-taking that Hooper is going for to try and make a more authentic and emotionally connected film. Too bad the trailer does absolutely nothing for me and makes me want to cover my ears within the first 20 seconds.
Here’s a clip that details the live singing and gives us a look at some of the performances.
Les Miserables also stars Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried and Russell Crowe.
