According to Deadline, The Wolf of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio will produce and possibly star in the film adaptation of Jo Nesbo‘s upcoming novel Blood On The Snow, which will be released under the pseudonym Tom Johansen. The novel won’t be published until next spring, but the film rights were already sent out to prospective buyers last week.
Warner Bros. is in negotiations to for the film’s rights to the novel, which will be set up at DiCaprio‘s Appian Way banner. The Norwegian novel follows a hit man who is tasked with killing his boss’ wife, but he ends up falling in love with her instead of following through with his plan.
The deal for Blood On The Snow is the second rights acquisition by Warner Bros. for DiCaprio in the last few weeks. The studio picked up the rights in September for A. Scott Berg’s Wilson biography that’s currently set up with Appian Way as a potential starring project for DiCaprio.
Nesbo will publish Blood On The Snow in the spring and the sequel More Blood On The Water in the spring of 2015. Check back for more updates as they come our way.
