***UPDATE: The story took a slight turn today as Deadline announced that Universal came out and denied outright any chance that Kristen Stewart is off the film saying:
“We are extremely proud of Snow White And The Huntsman and we’re currently exploring all options to continue the franchise. Any reports that Kristen Stewart has been dropped are false.”
It also goes on to mention that director Rupert Sanders probably won’t even return to the sequel that isn’t even written yet. He’ll be busy with 90 Church for Universal, and the sequel will focus more on Chris Hemsworth‘s Huntsman.***
Hollywood is such a mysterious beast. If you read the gossip columns there is a high chance that you already know actress Kristen Stewart cheated on fellow Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, who is married with children.
This is the type of bullshit that happens almost every day and I try not to pay attention to such things, because the people involved rarely deserve any more attention than they currently have.
Anyways, THR is reporting that Universal Studios has decided to dump Stewart from the sequel, but director Rupert Sanders (and obviously co-star Chris Hemsworth) are still attached. What kind of ass backwards world do we live in? I in no way enjoy Kristen Stewart as an actress, I actually really hated her performance in the film, but I don’t see how that sounds like the fair or moral thing to do.
Yes, she’s a cheater, but Sanders is the married guy that directed the film in a generic matter, without a single trademark. The film ended on a note that almost needs a sequel and getting rid of your main star doesn’t sound like the most reasonable choice.
There’s some heavy sexism going on here and I for one think this whole thing smells like rotten shit, from the top to the bottom.
Get ready for … and the Huntsman or The Huntsman and the Great Adventure or something along those horrible lines.
