Kodi Smit-McPhee Joins Matt Reeves’ ‘Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes’

Kodi Smit-McPhee Let Me In

Cloverfield director Matt Reeves is taking on the sequel to Rupert Wyatt‘s Rise of the Planet of the Apes. It’s titled Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and it follows Andy Serkis‘ Caesar as he leads the apes in the near future while a group of scientists are struggling to survive in San Francisco after the virus outbreak killed most humans.

Just the other day we reported the signing of Jason Clarke to the film and now we’ve found out that Kodi Smit-McPhee has joined. He last worked with Reeves on Let Me In and he can also be seen delivering an amazing performance in The Road.

I think he’s a great young star and should do fine in this film, but I am curious to find out who he will be playing. Rumors say possibly an ape, while others hint at a child of one of the scientists. Either way it’s going to be another great experience for McPhee to expand his filmography.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is scheduled for release on May 23rd, 2014.
