Avatar fans have been waiting patiently for James Cameron to return to the world of Pandora for another blue men adventure, but it looks like they might have to wait a little longer.
Originally, the plan was to release Avatar 2 in 2014 and Avatar 3 in 2015, but now it looks like that might be changing. James Cameron‘s been a busy man, with Titanic 3D releasing in theaters just a couple of days ago, plus he’s been busy working on Deepsea Challenge; his 3D documentary that focuses on his recent record-breaking deep ocean dive.
It’s not like Cameron is taking his sweet time with Avatar 2, but it does look like it isn’t an extreme priority at this point. Here’s what producer Jon Landau said to Empire:
“I think 2014 will be a tough date for us to make,” since, for them, “it’s about getting it right. Movies make release dates; release dates don’t make movies.”
WETA has already begun working on animations and renders for the film, but it doesn’t look like Cameron and the rest of the crew will be fully ready for a little bit longer.
Are you looking forward to Avatar 2?
