Every studio appears to be taking advantage of The Hunger Games‘ recent box office fame. First, a new trailer for Joseph Kahn‘s Detention hit, featuring The Hunger Games co-star Josh Hutcherson and now Relativity Media has released the first trailer for the horror film House at the End of the Street, starring Jennifer Lawrence. The film also features Elizabeth Shue and Max Thieriot.
There isn’t much in this trailer that separates Mark Tonderai‘s horror film from the others, but that won’t stop people from checking it out when it hits theaters on September 21st, 2012.
I hate how the trailer starts out at the end and moves backwards, revealing key plot points. It comes off as confusing and only makes my excitement for the film that much lower.

Seeking a fresh start, newly divorced Sarah (Oscar®-nominee Elisabeth Shue; “Leaving Las Vegas,” “Piranha 3D”) and her daughter Elissa (Oscar®-nominee Jennifer Lawrence; “X-Men: First Class,” “Winter’s Bone”) find the house of their dreams in a small, upscale, rural town. But when startling and unexplainable events begin to happen, Sarah and Elissa learn the town is in the shadows of a chilling secret. Years earlier, in the house next door, a daughter killed her parents in their beds, and disappeared – leaving only a brother, Ryan (Max Thieriot, “My Soul to Take”), as the sole survivor. Against Sarah’s wishes, Elissa begins a relationship with the reclusive Ryan – and the closer they get, the deeper they’re all pulled into a mystery more dangerous than they ever imagined.
Are you going be catching this film when it releases or does it look like every other horror film in circulation?
