The cast of Zack Snyder’s untitled-Man of Steel sequel, or Batman vs. Superman, keeps growing and growing. Just last week, it was reported that Fast & Furious star Gal Gadot has joined the cast as Diana Prince (aka Wonder Woman) and now one more actor has reportedly joined the cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Game of Thrones and Conan The Barbarian actor Jason Momoa will appear in an unspecified role in the sequel, which will see Henry Cavill’s Superman against Ben Affleck’s Batman.
It’s heavily speculated that Momoa could appear as Martian Manhunter, a superhero from the planet Mars whose abilities include super-strength, super-speed, shape-shifting, and telepathy among others. The character has played a key role in the Justice League. This makes the most sense considering this film is leading to the inevitable Justice League film. There’s also speculation that Momoa could be appearing as the iconic Superman villain named Doomsday, who’s most famous for killing Superman in a storyline from 1992.
Momoa certainly has the physique to pull off either character. His acting ability needs to drastically improve though. Momoa joins a cast that already includes Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.
Batman vs. Superman will arrive in theaters on July 17th, 2015.
