Is Tarantino’s Next Film Going To Be A Great Depression Gangster Film?

Quentin Tarantino‘s latest homage to the western genre Django Unchained is a bloody masterpiece. I’ve seen it and while I’m embargoed until release date to really talk about it I can say that it is his best movie since Jackie Brown. A lot of talk has started to surface as to what Tarantino plans on doing next. He’s been teasing Kill Bill Vol. 3 forever, but chances are that won’t happen until he actually puts together The Whole Bloody Affair.

In a recent interview Tarantino mentioned wanting to do a Great Depression era gangster film or perhaps another western. Here’s the direct quote:

I could conceive maybe someday doing a 30′s gangster picture, or something like that. I could think of doing another western, actually.

Remember, Tarantino also said that he wanted to end his run as a filmmaker while still on top and not become one of those old guys that’s still churning out stuff.

What would you like Tarantino to do next?

Are you planning on seeing Django Unchained come Christmas Day?
