I know a sequel to Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is the last thing on our minds in terms of franchises that don’t need reviving, but the rumor has been swirling around ever since Crystal Skull took home a shit ton of cash during its opening weekend.
Producer Frank Marshall spoke to Collider about the possibility of a fifth film and it doesn’t look all that bright. Here’s what he said:
“I say, for me, [Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is] the last hurrah. I know that yes, we talk about it, but there’s no idea, there’s no MacGuffin.”
George Lucas doesn’t seem to be in a rush and Steven Spielberg is off doing much more important things, which leads us to believe that Harrison Ford‘s most iconic role might be done on the big screen.
Thank the heavens!
