Hot Tub Time Machine was one of the better comedies of 2010, but it fell silent due to it being released around the same time as Alice in Wonderland and How to Train Your Dragon. It was a raunchy comedy that not only brought some wit to the table (along with the dumb humor), but also some in-your-face nostalgia straight from 1986. Hot Tub Time Machine was an all around good time.
Fortunately, there are talks in the works of director Steve Pink possibly pulling out a sequel to the movie. Unfortunately, one of the main four cast members seems to be holding out of the idea. HTTM’s front actor John Cusack apparently is holding out on the thought of rejoining Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke for a well-deserved sequel. This comes as a bummer because with just those three, things could get out of hand. Cusack’s character was the stable foundation with actual acting skills outside of comedy.
While nothing is confirmed on plot or cast details, maybe we can be hopeful to Cusack coming to his senses and joining a hopeful sequel to a damn good movie. Who knows where the next one will take us? I am just excited for the male bonding. Haven’t you seen Wild Hogs?
